Best place to buy it is straight from Dirk Dornblüth because it's a great experience, you can customize it with your own movement engraving, various options, and because Dirk is great. You'll have to be patient though

I have been look around ebay, and have seen many pre-1900 Patek watches sell.

What is the consensus on these? Most of them seem to be around 2-3k

They are that cheap? That's surprising. The only ones I see anywhere near that price range are all from Poland with new cases and 'old' parts.
