Hey thanks for your reply. I'm curious why you think it's a fake? Can you point out which part of it is? I don't know enough about IWC watches to know whether or not it is.

Nice Pam Guido! Do you still have the vintage Datejust and Sub? I haven't seen you post those in a while.

Yep - a legendary diving watch.
Singular's watch is an original from the 1970s, but Omega also reissued the watch a couple of years ago.

Prices for used PloProfs have quadrupled in the past 10-12 years and so I suppose that Omega thought that it was time to revisit the design, especially as big watches are in nowadays.

A friend of mine at high school was given a PloProf by his dad, back in the 1980s. His parents had recently divorced and I suspect that his dad felt guilty.
Of course, we knew absolutely nothing about watches, but were intrigued by the massive size of the watch, the bezel and crown.
He wore the watch every day, but one day I noticed that he wasn't wearing it and I asked him why.
He said that he had been chopping wood the previous day when the hands fell off! I don't know if he ever had it repaired.

I haven't been frequenting this place since the switchover to the new forum software. That root beer was hot! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
