Right. That's more like it. I had clean/oil, new OEM crystal, new crown/pin, new gasket done last year on a 1958 Seamaster for around $250.


I requested they send it back to me and I am going to take it to family jeweler down on Jeweler's row in Philly. The messed up part is the original jeweler is also family and I really think they are trying to jerk me.

Will update on how it goes and take some pics after repairs.

It is a beautiful, classic watch. Has the "First watch worn on the moon" on the back of it. Kind of cool.

Anybody got a line on my watch box and strap answer? I'm coming up empty on the low end watch box and my previous strap favorite, Di-Modell, seems to have raised their prices $30-50 for the Louisiana Alligator model. :-(

You know, in many parts of Asia, the beads are not a fashion accessory but rather charms that people wear for good luck. This one in particular was blessed by some monk near the big Buddha and its suppose to bring me sartorial luck during the year of the rabbit.
