glad the DSSD is working out so well for ya.

i have never owned that patek :(

but i would imagine that it would not take too kindly to hard bangs, the very polished surface would likely get dinged up quick.

buy it and let me wear it as a proxy, ill take excellent care of it, guaranteed!

what do you have in your collection at present?

Appreciate the proxy offer, but i very capable of banging it up myself :).
I have a bunch of Rolex, SS vintage to modern, TT and a yellow one. IWC chrono, Panerai 112, 312, JLC MUT and a VC thats older dress watch. I like the Rolex as they tolerate a ton of abuse and keep on ticking as long as I send them off for service.
The others pretty much stay on the winders in the safe, the Panerai dont even fit the wolf winders so they just sit! :embar: Tried a PP and it stayed in the box, but it was the best looking box which is somewhere in this thread, so i got rid of it. Maybe i should stick to the Camry of watches....Rolex.

Since you guys are discussing Lange, I think the rose gold Langematik Limited Edition for Wempe is quite nice.

The yellow gold or platinum versions aren't bad either.

My father has a Lange & Sohne that he is very happy with. Good watches and a classic look, will work great with suits.

but it is a beautifully simple and elegant watch.
also, while some of the simpler models are a bit boring, at least in pictures, in person they are always better, i would be more than happy to have one of these annual calendars.

Sorry Stitch, I have to disagree. Most of their simple watches that are boring in pictures are just as boring in person. I've handled lots of them, and my father has owned a few Pateks (Calatrava, Nautilus,, and a few of their pieces with complications). A few of their simple dress watches look good, but for the most part unless you get one with some complications, most look like they belong in an old age home and overpriced. But we all have our dreams, and you're a good guy, so if a Patek is your dream watch I hope you are able to make it happen

Thank you all for the help. Very happy with it. Get ready to be bored out with this watch in this tread, 24H posting of my baby :)

Congrats on your RO 26300. The blue and orange is an interesting combination. I tried that model a while ago and its very cool ! Enjoy it and wear it in good health!

Stitches, Interesting that you posted this watch. I bought the DSSD last week, so I pretty much completed the SS Rolex lineup. Thinking of a DD 2 in white gold or adding the above annual calendar later this year. Kindly educate me on this watch.
Regards.
The case on that is more durable than some of their offerings since the lugs are an integral part of the case. My Dad at various times used Pateks as daily wearers but he really babies his watches. If you are really tough on your watches, stay away from Patek unless you don't mind sending it in for service every 2 year or so. A friend of mine who is really tough on his watches and owned several restaurants and was always banging the hell of out them around the kitchen. They could take some abuse, and being fair to the watches, he really is tough on his watches, however he got rid of his Pateks as he realized they just weren't up to what he was putting them through. He also got tired of spending $2K or so every 2 years to fix his watches (most times they required more than just a cleaning, because of all the hard knocks they sustained). Good luck.

The rose version is a beauty. I do wish the crown was a little larger, but other than that its a very nice watch.

Love the Langes lately! Lange Datograph Auf/Ab is my grail watch - I've never felt anything special for Patek. Sadly it is at least a few years (or decades) away from my current means. I'm making do with a 16600 Sea-Dweller at the moment.

Thank you Dino, much appreciated for all your help aswell. I thought it might be more fun this way little more off the ''standard'' AP. Since my watches are so classic and if we now can call it boring now... I was after something much more crazy and this did it place in my collection.

Time to save up for a IWC or Patek :(

sounds like a great collection. i would give rolex more credit than just a camry though. ;)

lol, no worries. i agree that they do make some boring looking watches, but when i see them in person, the wonderful finishing takes over. sometimes, boring can be good. :)

and thanks, i hope i can make it happen, too!

Rolex' new styling actually works well on the GMT. Wish they used that case on the new Sub. Also if it were me I'd get the bracelet brushed, but all round it's a beautiful watch.

iPhone 4S.

I barely use my SLR these days. Speaking of which, I was digging through my photobucket and find some pics.

I kinda miss my Sub-C. But in the end, I prefer the GMT over it.
