Mark from Plano, that is very nice. Rare in rose.

Wonderful. I saw this model in the catalogs about 12 years ago. Refined, refined, refined. Not crazy about the IWC 5001 series - too big, too thick - a showoffs watch.

A gold Tudor automatic from the early 1930s.

Keeps time just fine, even after all these years, although the case bears the roadmarks of its journey through the decades. I think it merely adds character. I have owned it for about eight years now.

Is the case gold-filled or solid gold? If the latter, you can very easily give it a quick polish and make it look like new

If the former, then you should clearly not do that

Is that Tudor really from the 30's? It looks a little more contemporary than that--maybe the 50's.

Agree. The "ROTOR SELF-WINDING" inscription looks very similar to what came on the dials of Tudor watches equipped with the "Tudor Auto-Prince" aka Cal. 390 in the 1950s

When I had the movement cleaned and oiled when I first got it, I used the serial number to date it to the 30s. I have since lost the numbers and do not want to open the case until needed. The back is stainless so I figure it is gold filled and have been a little concerned about using a jeweler's clothe on it. It is better looking than the pictures indicates, such as the crystal appears much clearer.

Yeah, I was probably wrong to say rose. It isn't quite that dark. Probably more pink. Still not that many in pink though.

Jerome, here is one of my plain shirts - something that wouldn't be out of place in this 'Central Europe' that you inhabit.

Watch also included for relevant content. Tudor is the the lower level line of Rolex. At one time Tudor watches were more basic outsourced movements fitted in Rolex cases. This Tudor was the equivalent of Rolex's '6694' model - a handwound gents watch that was the entry into the Rolex lineup. Rolex has gravitated upwards into more posh watches and sadly these kinds of watches are no longer part of their stable. Fuzzy pic of the watch, but nothing really to see - an 'Oyster' case with the usual Rolex crowns on the bracelet and winding crown.
