Picked up a Jaeger LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon today. Love it but need to get a new strap. Not a big fan of the black alligator strap. Anyone that has the same watch, did you change the strap and if so, what did you get? Thanks.

Excellent choice, congrats.

I would like to see some pictures though.

Is it the color or the fact that it is an alligator strap which bothers you?

fantastic choice! steel or gold?

either way id recommend brown gator strap.

newC got an ostrich strap i think but went back to black.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments. I got steel. I am not a huge gold fan to be honest. I don't mind gold on indices or hands but a gold case/bezel is too much for me.

I will get come pics up at some point. The camera is at my parent's from Christmas but I should have it soon enough. I'll take a pic of my collection when I get it back. Current group is Tissot Le Locle, Tag Monaco Chrono (black face), Oris XXL Chrono, Oris Miles Chrono, Panerai 111, IWC Portuguese Chrono (white face with gold) and the JLC MUT Moon. Lot's of Chronos in that mix so I think this was a good change of pace.

I don't like black straps. Brown gator or croc is what I am thinking for the JLC. Not sure what shade and whether to get white stitching or not.

that is a great collection. it go for a darker richer brown gator, without contrast stitching, as imo it a dressier watch and needs a dressier strap.

We need to see pics of that baby. It may be too late now but when I bought my master geo it also came with a black strap, but I requested that they change it to a brown and they agreed, no further charge

Hey! Welcome to the club bro fistbump.gif

So, my thoughts on the matter. I picked up a tan (gold) ostrich strap from Camille Fournet. Although lovely, I have found that I prefer the MUT Moon on the standard gator. It really is a dress watch, and it really does need to be on a dressy strap. It just didn't feel right on the gold.

Although I too did not care much for the black at first blush, I have really grown to like it. I'm not much of a black-strap guy either, but it really gives the watch the formal air that it deserves. I may switch it back eventually to the Ostrich, but it fits nicely on the black strap for now. Some thoughts... I think it would look AMAZING on navy gator. Or navy ostrich. All sorts of navy. Your call.

Enjoy your new watch smile.gif.

In regards to the navy ostrich--I saw this on WUS a while back... Not too shabby...

Navy gator or croc would be so full of win.

So, let's say you need a wall clock, you like the design of IWC's Mark XV and you wanna spend about $100 - what to do? Solution (Click to show)

- if you can live we a watch saying 'Automatic' while being battery run, that is ;-)

That's kind of fun.  In person I've seen clocks like this that were based on Rolex DJ (fluted bezel), AP RO, and Patek Nautilus.

I love a blue dial on a steel watch.  Its a great addition to any collection, no matter what brand.  Its a nice change from the often expected black, white, or silver dials.

+1  That would be a killer strap for that watch.

I'm not a fan of ostrich, but a navy strap looks great on that....I'd opt for navy croc or calf over ostrich, but that's just me.
