^^ no problem frills! always love seeing your posts around here -- more often than not they tend to highlight something i hope to pick up down the road. what're you reading btw? i haven't found myself chasing daylight at the hands of a good book in too long.

jbarwick -- i think the temperature probably changes almost everywhere, but there's a pretty big swath of the US that really only has one season, two at the most... i hadn't seen the foliage in years before i spent some time back home earlier this fall. easy to forget how beautiful it can be in person

Easier to deal with the DST change with this one today.

Wife's birthday coming up soon.  Didn't get her a watch this time around.  But I did get her the new iPad Air this afternoon (launched today) and an iPad case: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

see below.

nice gifts!

i plan to have a blast indeed. hope your weekend that weekend is excellent, even sans meetup.

Yes, I am meeting with one of my other hobby Bro's up here (I know, is it really possibly for an SFer to have a hobby outside of watches and fine clothing?), so it should be fun fun even sans the SF meetup.  We'll catch up another time, if not NYC, one of these days when I visit the DC area again.

I'm sure the blue Birkin will earn you some serious bonus points with Mrs. Frills.  Great choice!

Also does everyone get to enjoy the seasons changing?  Our deck looks over the "Green Hills" our area of town was named after and the leaves are a changing!

Three months will pass by faster than you can imagine!  My wife and I can't believe its already been 12 years since our big day.  My Explorer 2 (wedding gift from the Mrs) is a nice reminder of the day.   I'm sure you will really enjoy wearing your GMT2 on your big day!

I love the change in seasons and cooler temps. I also prefer the fabrics and colors used for fall/winter clothing far more than spring/summer.

Thank you for your kind words, gentlemen.  Wish I was in NY this week :)

Love the father / son pic, Mimo - and I'm glad you're enjoying the orange monster.  It's a watch I've nearly bought a few times over the years, and one day almost certainly will.

This Breitling today

I have had this watch for a long time and it has kind of grown on me. I always liked the navitimer style but my inner watch snob got in the way: Pedestrian 7750 movement/dial layout and generally Breitlings are not my thing. This one i think has a nice vintage vibe.

@robw
That one rather screams Breitling, but in a good way, IMO. I rather like the look of old style Navitimers and Montbrilliants.

Hey guys, I never post in here but thought I would share my newest acquisition :

An early birthday gift from the most wonderful wife ever, a 1940’s solid 18k rose gold Universal Geneve Tri-Compax moon phase chronograph.

Nautilus and solid gold LW spido, he was also rolling in a brand new Range Rover SC (on dealer plates).

@Find Finn, I'm afraid I didn't, but I did catch an earlier program where he was interviewed about his watch collection and I've briefly talked watches with him when I met him some time ago.

edit: I just got an e-mail from Bindesbøl, that KH will be signing his 3rd book on watches in the shop on november 9th.

Wow, that's a beauty! Your wife definitely picked a very interesting watch with a lot of character. Congrats on the new watch and happy birthday.
