the Rado gift conundrum!
so I just received this in the mail, out of the blue... didn't pick it out or even know it was coming although I'm happy to say it fit perfectly, just not so sure about keeping it.
was thinking about this as well, but have yet to try it on.
for those of you wondering "why the hell would you get a Rado?" ..... it's a (semi) long story, but let's just say it involves family!
While I think the one you were considering looks cleaner than the one you were sent. Its from family, and its a gift, so maybe at the end of the day just keep the one you got in case you see this relative in the future. It wasn't your dream brand to begin with so maybe it doesn't matter so much which one you get. Just my 2 cents.
Very nice, welcome.
Thanks Jbarwick. Also, just wanted to clarify only the 39mm Ultra flat RO is what people commonly refer to as a "Jumbo." In recent years it has carried reference number 15202. Its based on the original RO ultra-thin case and ultra-thin movement 2121 from 1972...and back then 39 mm was a large watch. There have been other 39mm ROs such as ref 15300 (or the current Dual Time & current Day-Date/calendar watch), and there are larger watches at 41mm such as the 15400... but none of them are Jumbos, even though the are the same size or larger.

thats a funky watch. not bad at all, but i think i like the second one a lot better.
P-K-L - great looking RO.
Beautiful ROs everyone - if we're spreading G Genta love, how come no Nautiluses? Nautili??? Who knows, but let's see some eared beauties! Here's my contribution for the day, took a page out of nofrills' book...
Haha very nice ReversoLover! Not a Reverso day for you today?
Well, it's Halloween. Going trick or treating tonight with my girls. No problem with the costume, since I am always in costume:
Awesome Frills! What are those shoes!?[/quote
The wingtips are by Corthay, a model called Vendome. Color is olive with heavy burnishing (so it actually appears brown either at first glance or depending on the lighting). Picks up on the olive elements in my tie I think.

Finally! A comment about the kryptonite-hued shoes... Hehe. Good one!
Love this pair from Corthay. The patina is awesome and the construction is second to none. Shoes are a year old and get worn about once every two weeks, rain (like today) or shine.
Thanks! Can't very well dress as Wayne or Batman... I mean. That's no costume, really. So I dressed up like the boy scout from Metropolis.
I agree... hope to try on the all black one (I believe it's the r5.5) on this weekend or next.
not exactly a ringing endorsement! LOL... leave it to me to get Stitchy to use the word "funky" in describing a watch.
