I wish it were, but I am completely serious. It was a horrorshow. Bratty little shits yelling at their mother to buy them JLCs and LVs... no shit.
The worst part actually was the look on the SA's face as he actually had to show the watch to the kid for his perusal. I shit you not. He had such a look of helpless, pathetic, semi-closeted disdain... I truly felt sorry for him. Ultimately the reality is they may in fact buy it and really that is his job. It was sad.
you've nailed it precisely. I actually felt as if it had drained some of my vital positive energy for a while after I left. I have never been so happy to land in NYC and the immigration guy said "Welcome Home". He has no idea how sincerely I appreciated it at that time.

just under a year... for work. I was literally counting the days and crossing them off the calendar one by one about 40 some days out. The only thing that kept me sane was the week-long break I took for New Year's to Vienna to relax, drink copious amounts of beer/wine, eat even more copious amounts of friend pork (Wiener schnitzel) and chill with some down to earth Euro-peeps! smile.gif

*** on another note... for those of you who remember my "Rado gift conundrum" I have been test driving the first possibility this week... hope to post a pic or two this weekend. Thanks to all who provided advice and stay tuned!

Interesting - thanks.  If you had kept one more, would it have been the Rolex?

Actually I think it would have been the Seiko. Having a bad case of sellers's remorse about that one. I may have to buy it again in the future.

Frills that 1601 looks great! Does yours still have the vintage acrylic crystal? and if so any tips on how to clean it from time to time. Mine took a trip through my gf's makeup bag because she misunderstood my "please bring me my watch" to mean "please stick my watch in your make up bag and scratch the s**** out of it" biggrin.gif

Anyhow its due for maintenence so i'm sending it in to have it completely serviced but for the future if you have any pointers on keeping that scratch prone acrylic looking that good i'd love to hear em.

Stitch, I know you're in the middle of a NMWA* frenzy, and I feel your pain.  But you know if you slip your new Inis Meain sweater on and your new shell shoes this weekend and go do something relaxed and fun with that Panny on your wrist, and they will all be so perfect together and you know it, then it will suddenly feel like something on which you are no longer able to compromise.

Just saying.

You have had a lot of courier/postman visits lately, haven't you?

And Mrs Stitch has raised her voice** within the last two days, hasn't she?
