it would seem. though i was really hard on that strap, wore it daily for 3 summers in a row in 100 degree + heat for 15 hours a day. unloaded trucks..... all kinds of dumb crap.

with my new and present job, another alligator should be just fine. i really want a JLC replacement, but those puppies do not come cheap. frown.gif

Stitchy, try the ebay, I used to buy new straps for half of the retail.

Yet another modern company with purchased faux heritage.
But their HMS1 is a thing of beauty: http://www.arnoldandson.com/home/royal-collection.aspx

Too bad they make it 40mm and not 38 or so.

The Stowa Antea KS that I bought 6 years ago (thanks for the rec skalogre, if you're still around) has appreciated in value enough to where I don't like wearing it daily any more.

Considering getting a Vostok "Scuba Dude" Amphibia off ebay with a NATO strap as a banger.

Thoughts? What strap would you guys get for the iconic blue "Scuba Dude"?

I always like the look of rubber straps on divers but I've only ever used that strap once before and found it a bit uncomfortable. Also would be synthetic variation that is water proof, much like the strap on the Legend Diver.

What do people think of black pvd cases? I love the look of them but am concerned how they will wear.

From a site I was reading...
Quote:
Be aware that PVD cannot be re-applied, and even marquee brands like Panerai will only remove the coating if its damaged. Many people consider scratches in PVD finishes to be signs of real use, however. They feel that scratches give a "tool" watch some serious character, and wouldn't buff them out even if they could.

CF makes ordering a custom strap very easy on the website.

You can get it essentially unpadded for the ultrathin.

Definitely a rubber strap.

Maybe a Seiko-style one.

Yeah its pretty awesome. I've tinkered a few times but end up overwhelmed with the choices.

I think it'll come down to a honey brown strap or a blue strap for an alternate look...Im just procrastinating happy.gif

I just wish there were more pictures of others on GIS or elsewhere

I should have a dark brown gator PAM strap (though less padded) in 2-3 weeks.

What I like the most - you can get it with folded as opposed to wax edges.

We'll see how the skin quality is but the price seems right.
