Better yet, on wrist often enough that winding isn't required.
A bad winder is worse than no winder at all. A good multi-watch winder can cost a lot and doesn't obviate the need for regular maintenance.

Thanks, mine are manual wind as well so I was just curious that if I don't wear the same one every day, how critical is it to wind them regularly (and at the same time of day according to the recommendations).

First of all, let me say that there are some BEAUTIFUL watches in this thread

inspirational, even. In fact, ever since I peered at this thread in curiosity a few weeks back I've decided it's time I invest in a watch myself. Something for dressing up- which I do several times throughout the week. So this is a recommend me a watch post... I seriously don't even know where to start. I've done searches on here and since this isn't new-thread worthy I settled for this thread as the best place to start, though I know it's more of a discussion/show & tell thread. If you guys would be willing to help me out, though, I'd more than appreciate it

I'm 21, so I can probably only go entry to midlevel at best. Something clean and good/great quality for the price not lacking in looks. I can tell there are a lot of different preferences in here, but I would assume there's a general standard of what quality should be worth my money in that range and which brands I should avoid like the plague. I have tiny wrists as well haha. Like, girl status

If at the very least someone can point me in the right direction, that's all I should need and I'd be willing to explore from there. Thanks, SF!

EDIT: I figured to include a pic or something of a style that appeals to me to narrow it down. Someone posted this bad boy a little earlier...

I have to imagine JLC is on some baller status just from looking at that picture, but I'd be happy with something of that style that isn't of terrible quality or upwards of like 2k. Hope that helps and thanks again in advance!

^ I'm in the same boat (price,small wrist, age.) I love my Seiko 5 Auto for daily wear, incredibly reliable and unbelievably inexpensive (I got mine for $50!) If you're looking for dressier, than I would go with a classic American watch a la Lord Elgin, Bulova, Hamilton, Benrus, Gruen...etc. Avoid anything larger than a 40mm case.

I'm also looking for a nice, first real watch for less than $2K. I really like a lot of Longines' Master Collection. Here's one that may interest you:
