Apparently, it is from 1973 - it certainly looks it, stylewise, though it still looks almost brand new.

Thanks! I know you have the same, have been wanting this for a while now and a friend at work works with watches aswell. So got this for a good price, couldn't resist. It's never wrong with to many watches :D

Congrats on the JLC!  Enjoy it, the Reversos are always a great choice.  Glad to hear that the AP savings didn't have to be used to make the JLC happen.

Thank you very much. On the other hand if I didn't buy this JLC watch I could have the AP now :( But few more months is worth the wait!

So I'm minding my business on a crisp Parisian afternoon when I pass by the Wempe windows. Lo and behold, the new Lange Datograph! I was lukewarm from pics, but in the metal this is one outstanding timepiece. The dial is clean, balanced, and I like the addition of the power reserve. While they enlarged the case to 41mm, the thickness is a good counterbalance and it actually wears very similar to its little brother, my 1815 chronograph.

Might the new Dato be the very best chronograph in the world? I think there's a reasonable claim to be made...
