Others may disagree, but one could make the same arguement for the exhibition case back as well.

Since Patek would be the only one capable of servicing these watches, they would be able to find out about it pretty easily.

I can understand them not wanting them to be re-sold.  One, it sort of cheapens the experience and two, they don't make anything on the re-sale.  I agree, most likely if they discover you have sold the watch at auction shortly after taking delivery they probably will never sell you another watch that requires an application.  I know Patek keeps track of auction results as I've seen results printed in the Patek magazine that gets sent to registered Patek owners.

Hi here's a few pics from earlier today of my own Patek smile.gif not an application piece but I love it nonetheless ...

Beautiful watch!  I tried one on at a dealer recently and was surprised by its size.  It definitely wears and feels smaller than their previous chronographs.  Awesome photos.  Thanks for sharing them.

Nice Sub C no-date.  How do you like it?  I saw one for the first time this weekend.  It might be the first time I think I liked the non-date version more than a Sub Date.

I think it can be said for most watch functions, I doubt most people actually use the chrono function on their watch, but that hasn't stopped anyone.

I don't own one, but I think they add some color and beauty to many watches.  To be honest, I'm not sure I ever met anyone that owned one that even had the moon phase properly set.

I always used to set mine so I could see the full moon and a few stars.

Wow, now I've at least chatted with someone that has set their moonphase display! worship.gif

My father has owned 2 watches with moonphase displays and he never set them.
