Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.
Mine was a 2006 if i recall.....has the in house movement. I loved it, but if i had the choice, i wouldve gone for the zenith movement in a heartbeat. the el primero movt they used wasnt the standard one in the other zenith watches...rolex went over it witha fine toothed comb and did a lot of mods. fantastic watches.

Oh goodness. I love the overseas.

I much prefer the bracelet on the 2nd gen. really nice!

Yes, overall I really liked the original Oversease design more than the current one, but the bracelet getting jammed can be a pain.  A buddy of mine had both the time with Arabic numerals and the black dial chronograph version of the 1st generation Overseas.  He seemed to have more issues with the chronograph version and eventually sold it.  He still has the time only model which is his daily wearer.  I've tried on the 2nd generation Overseas chrono and it just doesn't appeal to me.

Yes after 2000, the Daytonas all had the inhouse movement cal 4130, and they were ref # 116520.  Its a really nice watch, longer power reserve, the clasp and bracelet are solid, the lum marking and hands are wider and easier to read at a glance, and its probably a better choice if its going to be worn daily.  I have one that I bought in 2005 and a Zenith based Daytona from 1996.  If I could only keep one, it would be the Zenith based 16520.  Its a little more classic looking with the narrow hands and hour markers, and its movement supposedly had more than 200 modifications including changing the number of BPH from 36,600 to 28,800.  The zenith version is a keeper!

Keep saving its worth it!  I also encouraged the MRS buy a few pieces of jewelry during the last 2 years to ease the path for this purchase. Plus I sold an Explorer 1 that I bought 10 years ago and rarely ever wore.  It was all worth it!!!

It has always been not now, someday when I have cash blabla.. But If I actually save few pennies every month I would end buying it. The time goes by so fast...If I count how much I spend on clothes every month I could easy buy this watch in a couple of months, need to break the shoe-shopping for a while :D

I'm not sure where, you are getting at with this?

Thanks for the response. If I get one it will definitely be the Zenith movement. I was unaware of all the mods that rolex had done to the movement. Thanks for the info.

Best regards,

Beautiful and classic looking. Enjoy it.

not exactly. i work for a company that has both a store, and also a buying operation separate from the store. there are a few locations where we do buying, each one in a slightly different way, geared towards different specialties and clienteles. i work in one of the buying operations.
