The Longines Column Wheel Chrono is also worth looking into, it will run you around $3,300. I am assuming, of course, that you don't want to drop 5 large, but would rather find something in the $3,000 range.

The AT is now at $5,500. But you can still buy it at a great price @ $3,200-$3,500ish. I agree with Cylon, you can get a really nice Zenith El Primero chronograph around that price range. If you want something with the blue hand/marker. Longines does have some beautiful chronograph.

I'm pretty sure gdl203 is going post his Longines shortly icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

You can get a new 38mm El Primero or the Captain Chronograph for around 5k. The striking tenth will cost you more.

+1 for a gdl203 longines action shot, but only if he can break away from the street brawls in WAYWRN lol8[1].gif

Man, I thought I was going to get to see some CWC, not just a Heritage Chrono! Just kidding, lovely watch.

And the new AT is $5,500? Eek. Well, nonetheless, that is probably only $4,500 new from the FAD, maybe even less!

Best $1.5k I've ever spent on a watch. I wear it more than any watch in my collection.

I must admit when I first saw gdl's longines posts, it made me rethink the brand. Seeing all the other watches hes had over the course of this thread, its quite an endorsement.

Also they've (that is, Longines) had a few new releases fly under the radar.

Check the Longines Heritage 1940, and the Heritage Chrono 1942

I really like the watch except for the fact that the date is cutting into the '6'.

I did a quick search and it looks beautiful, and classy. Just looks a little small.

It's a mens watch. Retro sensibilities = smaller case size

That is quite the complement, especially considering that you have my current grail watch. The watches look to be very nicely finished. I would go so far as to say that they present the best "value" on the market in my opinion in the $1,000 - $5,000 range.

Beautiful watch and a great value. I bought my father one for his birthday last year and he loves it. Here it is next to his old watch, an upgrade to say the least!

I feel like in your heart of hearts, you want the PR. You talk very highly of that one. I really like it in black as well. The white dialed version is a bit cold, but I actually like cold feel of it. I wish there was a GO AD even remotely close to where I live. Dallas seems to be the closest... Ugh. Make sure you try to take pictures for your internet friends.
