Thinking of buying a Union Glashutte Belisar GMT (Anthracite dial). Any thoughts on this choice?

i have talked myself out of getting a 5001 a few times because i had the feeling that its just not robust enough for day to day use. somehow the large face and lack of bezel make it seem vulnerable. seems that i was wrong though

Not so crazy about this one, it looks too busy. Do people really need a dial to remind them what month it is?

^^^No, but it's a great watch. I was admiring a pre-owned one earlier today.

A good choice. It is a less "bling" version of Chopard's Mille Miglia GMT and without that silly tyre thread rubber strap.

Curious why this and not say the Rolex GMTIIc?

Gaz

Its the pic. The watch is much more classy and subdued in person.

Meh. What drew you to this one? I'd blow 2k on something else personally.

Occasionally, I wouldn't mind having the year on the dial....

Thanks. I like the 'look' of the piece (+ the Anthracite dial color), and also kinda like the fact that its not readily available in the U.S. Just generally hate Rolex, so that's a no-go for me.

Saw the Senator Hand Date for the first time this weekend. A beautiful watch at a great price (pics from www.watchprosite.com):
