I am not really a watch guy, but I bought my first decent watch this week.

very nice. And that is a big rig, in the realm of Sinns.

Actually I like it because it is *only* 40mm... but I assume you aren't talking about dimensions?

EDIT: that's your cuff, BTW.

well, it sits at almost 2cm high off the wrist too, and I know it weighs a ton - that 756 is nice little lozenge. redface.gif

love the watch, Islander. Im looking to pick up a watch in a similar style. Deciding between the Bell&Ross 123 and 126

No, you're totally right. I have not measured it but WatchBuys says it is 15mm high. You've seen my pictures though... I'm big enough to pull it off, lol.
My favourite feature might actually be the twin-pusher clasp on the bracelet... looks cool, secure and easy to use, an engineering marvel icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

The clasps on the the various x56 series bracelets are all the same basically, they look the same - but mine on the 356 is really, really tight - can't pop it open unless I get a thumbnail under there, and with that it still takes a pretty significant amount of leverage to pop it up.

I know the 756 clasp (looks the same, but I believe the bracelets are actually different) is not nearly as tight and works as it should, and I've had deployants in the past that I could pop open using just the pads of my thumb and index finger by grabbing the sides of the clasp bit. It's my one gripe about the watch, and also the reason I wear it so much - I can't take the damn thing off for two weeks at a time, haha. If I cut my nails I'm basically stuck with the watch on for a good week at least....

Hmmm interesting, I was told this clasp was exclusive to Diapal models but then I am a sucker and don't know shit about watches, lol.

Google just told me " [...] The bracelet for the 756 Diapal is exclusive to that model. It's much more refined and has a smooth twin-pusher clasp that is just a joy to use [...] " but that's some chat room comment circa 2006.

Either way I am thrilled with it. Feels military grade, super easy to open, close, etc. and there is no bulky center clasp buckle. You just push those side tabs, like so:

hmm
my GUCCI watch has the same looking clasp
push the two tabs on the side and it unlocks

It's a common type of clasp.

I figured it was time I took some decent photos of my watch.

Thanks, yes it is. I did some research and it is called a double-fold deployant clasp in case anyone else was wondering. Push buttons give a solid, satisfying click, feels very German.

So I am totally geeking out here... just measured with calipers and the watch is 13.4mm thick. The crystal is flat but yes Drew I imagine with a domed crystal like on some of the Fliegers it would be closer to 2cm. Haven't weighed it yet, lol.
