Hello all.

Would anyone have any recommendations for a watch around the 2500 USD mark with preferably a GMT/Dual Time function? It's for a gift and I don't think I can quite stretch to the 4k required for a pre-owned Rolex GMT Master II.

how about a UTC watch? More than enough nice Sinn UTC models for that kind of money.

Wow, I wish to have a watch like alot of you have in a couple of years. Atm I have a Certina.

I actually dig that watch because it's not on the og bracelet, I hate newer Speedy bracelets with the polished accents. I am sick of NATOs as much as the next guy, but it works on that watch. I like the original Speedy bracelets but I don't want a Speedy bad enough to spend more than say, a stack on one, and I can't figure out all the different Speedmasters out there. frown.gif I know the ones I've seen that I can afford have the ugly bracelet.

I change the strap every now and again based on my mood.

yeah and? the nato strap in picture is also blue...
tell me there isnt a sartorial prevention to put blue on blue for watches...

obviously not, but I don't really think a satin black leather strap goes with a textured navy dial that well, probably the worst of matches. Would you wear a black shirt with a navy jacket?

impolyte, i hated my speedy bracelet, but got a 1171 which is much less bulky and doesnt have those tacky polished links (same reason i dont go for the GMTIIC).
you can get a good condition speedmaster professional for around £1200 and the 1171 around £100. a bit more than you specified but it's worth it, one of my favourite watches.
also, if you don't take to it, you'll almost certainly get your money back if you flip it.

How about a black jacket w/a blue shirt?

that's just the kind I am looking for, thanks. I knew a lot of the speedys weren't so dear, I've been seeing some old ones for like $4000 and I don't want one that badly. 1000 sterlings is reasonable and what i'd probably pay in Japan.
