No, on a wristwatch it's useless. But judging from the prices, it's hardly worthless.

Of course not, but I was only mentioning in passing that as a technical complication, it's utterly worthless. It's merely an expensive trinket that makes a great revenue stream for high-end watch companies. As far as complications go IMHO, a minute repeater or rattrapante are far more fascinating and useable.
