Andy57: Red Sub on Bond NATO = perfect watch for your profile pic.

Congrats!

(And I assume that martini is shaken, natch.)

The rolex travel/repair cases are tough as nails. Omega gives you a much nicer looking round red pouch. Though I doubt it would take the same beating as the Rolex plastic box.

Didn't someone just post a few days back about sending a bracelet to someone in HK who tightens them up and restores them? Could be worth looking into that. Alternatively, as you say, keep the original bracelet somewhere safe and get a new bracelet for daily wear.

Eight months later I finally got a Metro. I had switched the deposit I originally had on one to one of the new Neomatiks (which I should get soonish), but thanks to a house sale, I ended up with a nice surplus and decided I could spend a small amount of it on another watch. Was really looking for a blue dialed something, but wasn't in love with anything enough to justify spending on it. In the end there was a reason I was immediately taken by this watch and it seemed best to make it happen.

Was able to purchase it locally from a dealer who'd been very kind over the various browsing visits and it was nice to finally buy something from him. Loving it so far, but the crystal makes photographing it very difficult, I guess I'll just have to use it to tell time then satisfied.gif

Yes, @P. Bateman, I believe, posted about that. I may go that route, but I think I'd prefer to leave the bracelet as it is now, essentially unmodified and original. I may purchase a new bracelet at some point, but for the moment I'm enjoying it on one of various Natos.

Thanks, it's actually Chromexcel, but it's thin enough that it looks like a shell strap. This is a button stud strap from formfunctionform.com that a buddy suggested I try out. Essentially a one piece strap that uses a stud instead of a buckle to fasten.

Nice Rolex, but I'm with tiger...leave the diamond watches to the girls.

I think it works great if you're in the South. I'm serious.
