You are definitely one of the few guys who has wrists that are large enough wear such a large, chunky watch.  It wouldn't work for me, but it looks good on you.  I guess the real question is whether it really puts a smile on your face.  If it does, then go for it.  If you have some hesitation, then continue to do some research until you find the watch that is right for you.  Good luck with whatever you decide.
