I do have a 5711 in steel. This one was released in Basel earlier this year - all rose gold, chocolate dial. I've been jonesing for an all gold piece on a bracelet recently, but this isn't going to be the one - although it's a really handsome piece.

I've recently joined the Stowa Club, pure beauty.

So, er, not-quite-but-kind-of-INCOMING. biggrin.gif

Here here! It's amazing how the world changes when you've finally got yourself into a real timepiece. The espresso tastes even sweeter, the wine gets you tipsier even as you maintain better self control, and the women all raise an eyebrow as you stride past.

Well, not quite...

But given that it's often the most intricate and costly item a man can wear on his person, a quality timepiece does lend quite a bit of weight and character to answering that question of "what is he made of?"

wise words sir, wise words. I don't think I need to expend on this but wearing a quality timepiece says a lot about it's owner for sure wink.gif.

Looks great; my own flieger should be arriving today! I recently bought an MO direct from Stowa, and a flieger came up on eBay for a good price the other day. So much for brand diversity shog[1].gif

lol. Is that really a gold dress with brown stripes? It looks like a white dress with blue stripes to me.

How long did it take and what did you end up having serviced?  Hope you receive it soon, in magnificent condition!

Wearing mine today.  Still waiting on the croc strap that has been sitting at customs in Germany for a week now.

I tend not to read anything in to people's watches except for, "we (don't) have similar taste in watches."

Which version of the strap did you choose? I have the opposite problem - I've got the croc strap, but not the MO!

I'd ended up deciding on the roman numeral/polished MO, as I wanted to dress it up a bit. And the fact that it still came with the old logo (my preference) played a significant part, as well. I'd verified that mine would come with the old logo, but it unfortunately arrived with the new. Fortunately, Stowa did have a dial with the old logo available, and they're swapping it for me now.

It took about 6-7 weeks. Got it serviced because the owner had only had one service in 15 years so I figured better to do it now than risk some unknown factor causing a problem down the line (I factored a service into the purchase price). This way I get to start with it as new as it'll ever again feel. The technitian didn't find anything non-routine that needed to be done. Total cost $600 plus shipping.

I ordered the middle brown croc.  It was initially shipped well ahead of the watch, but USPS decided it was undeliverable as addressed and returned it.  After a week of calling USPS every day to try and track it down, Stowa agreed to ship a new one out to me.  That was two weeks ago, so I'm glad Stowa ships the watch with a strap as otherwise I'd be going insane staring at the watch sitting in the box.

I think you will be very happy with your MO when it arrives.  I kind of wish I had been able to get in on the old logo, but am still enjoying this one immensely.

:smarmy:

Unfortunately that gold dress with brown stripes retails for about twice the number of the white (steel) dress with blue stripes.  Which helps me with the "pass" decision!

Nice - can't wait to see it on the croc! I went with the black/brown with cream stitching, but am a bit worried it'll be too large for my wrist. We'll see....

If it helps visualize the size, my wrist is about 7 3/8 inches and relatively flat.  Below is a picture from last weekend that I think more accurately captures the size on my wrist.

Thanks - my wrist is just over 6.5" (the big watch craze is not for me). I know that watch will look ok (shout out to @DLJr for letting me try his on at the NY trunk show a while back), just think I should have gone for the short version of the strap. Will have to decide whether to order another, or if I can get a hole added.
