Now, seriously, this whole Panerai bash/love circus has been done before and is pointless to the extreme. Some like the designs, some don't - why does it have to be more than this. Why don't I see posts saying: "Am I the only one who doesn't like JLC?", or Oris or whatever other brand? Why this strange and singular focus on wanting to express a dislike for Panerai over the other dozens of watch brands? I'm perplexed.

In any case, that's really not the object of this thread - it's a picture thread, not meant to rehash every 30 pages who likes Panerai and who doesn't and whether 44mm is too big or not - the answers are the same they were 2 years ago or 10 years ago: it is for some, it isn't for others.

The real question is whether it's a fad or a trend.

Also, some people like vanilla *and* chocolate.

ps: Holy shit.

I wish.
It's the closest thing I could find when I bought it about 10 years ago.

Impressive display

Is that a PAM62 on top there? No 195?

Grand Seiko at its best:

I have 2 model Ms ... one at home and one in safekeeping (aka the closet). The first one is from 1987 ... and it happily clacks to this day.

If you still want a model M, look here.

Ah the SBGW001 ... very nice watch - not a spring drive though. Today's grand seikos are a nod to the older styles from back in the day - which is why some people find it a bit dated.

This is a better pic:

One of my favourite seikos is the 52 King Seiko ... been looking for one forever.

Yes on the 62.
No on the 195. I didn't feel like jumping through the hoops to try and get one.

Well the 40mm one belongs to my wife...

In the Paul Smith shoe thread, some one asked how folks could afford all the shoes.
I said I stopped buying watch. I was serious about that.

Will you let me know if you ever want to sell the PAM62?

Re 195, back then, it was not that complicated - an email to the Firenze boutique (or to Jay) was all that was needed to get on the list

Sure thing, although it's rather unlikely I'd want to sell that one.
