Well, it's not completely serious - I meant three do-it-all pieces in the wardrobe that never go wrong, and that can be picked without any second thought, and that always are considered proper choices. Three easy picks.
The mighty Laco Beobachtungsuhr 55mm second dial configuration, circa 1942. These are really not for daily use, more of an Aviation instrument/antique after all...but I can rock it, stylistically.. and cannot resist doing so. Stop traffic attention everywhere it's worn - shown with it's Swiss bretheren Rolex GMT to illustrate heft -
The currant one is fantastic, much more comfortable, and much, much better looking,.
As far as what the 2 of the big 3 would do, they have designed details of their sport watch faces with their bracelets, PP with their Aquanaut has a globe pattern that the tropical rubber strap is a perfect compliment, the Nautilus with its horizontal lines is in perfect harmony with it's bracelet, and AP's Royal Oak waffle pattern dial and octangular bezel with screws is perfect for the somewhat chunky bracelet they have.
So its obvious to me much thought as gone into them. I have all 4
I love how distinctive PP and AP sports models are (I'm wearing a 5065 as we speak), what I find tacky is the integration of the VC cross into the bezel and bracelet on the OS. It looks fine until you realize it's the darn logo, as opposed to just a signature bracelet/face design (which is what you have for the other three)
