Jumping back to the previous pen conversation, some birthday presents from my beloved: I'd been hinting at a Montegrappa, so this was a big surprise, but I'm loving it.  I like the balance, the smooth, ergonomic feel of it, the sprung clip, and the way the lid clicks on with a little internal magnet makes it feel alive. Most satisfying.  [Edit: spooky timing, BH, you posted while I was loading pics!]

Liking the perfume too, and the new shell cordovan wallet.  She is a wonderful woman.

Taking a cue from this. Happy birthday mimo!

Sorry for the complete quote in advance, I'm on mobile.

Which Audi?? Teat drove a new S3 and RS4, coming from a modified V8 S4...RS was powerful but not emotionally engaging to drive. S3 was a little pocket rocket. Never have bought a car new, only CPO, but it's quite tempting. Especially with ECU tuner potential for ripping off 3.8 0-60.

My only qualm with Liquid Art House is that Ms. Party IV went and said drinks are great, but food is more about Insta presentation than flavor. Take that with 0.02.

Put down a deposit today on the JLC UT moon. Was thinking about it all weekend, whereas the Geophysic was slightly scratched and not that discounted. Didn't capture my emotions the same way. Very happy and excited for such a piece.

Just a quick note, the quote attributed to me isn't mine.  It was Belligero commenting on something I said.  That being said, I do agree with Belligero's comments on the Geophysic.  Cheer!

My mistake Dino.

And I'm not slamming Hodinkee by any means, I read them quite a bit. I just don't think I've ever seen a negative review by them.

I had an A4 with an APR Stage 1 ECU tune. Loved it to pieces. I don't think I'd buy a car new unless it were a really special model (Aston Martin, etc.). The Audi gave me anxiety though. It was black, so hard to keep pristine. I think when I get back to the States in a few years, my next car will be a silver Passat, or something I won't have to stress out about keeping perfect. But I will say that I disagree with the common idea that Audis are unreliable, mine never gave me much trouble.

That's what I kind of figure about Liquid Art House. Doesn't bother me though. In my book, enough beauty can more than compensate for a bit of blandness. (excluding women)

Nice choice on the MUT Moon! One of my faves. If I wore suits more often I might have opted for one of those in place of my most recent purchase.

Hello again. Sorry for name dropping the Comex and then disappearing. The watch belongs to a friend of mine who is in the business, so I don't really feel comfortable posting pictures. I was just gauging the interest level in case there was a buyer here. :-)

In other news....

So does a friend of mine. He wears his DeepSea all the time - with a suit when working, with a polo shirt and shorts or jeans on weekends, while playing tennis, while swimming laps. I've never actually seen him when he hasn't been wearing it.

I assume that he takes it off when he sleeps, but I've never shared a bedroom with him so I don't know!

He's an electrical engineer by trade who now works as a consultant, so he's interested in the Milgauss as a second watch but has been prevaricating about it for a year or so now as he likes the DeepSea so much.

Love the idea of the S3, but the brand's rep isn't a myth.  A buddy of mine had two different models of S4 (purchased new) and each had tons of mechanical issues, so he would dump them and pick up an S5.  I used to tell him he was their best, least satisfied customer.  Another friend had a TT where they hadn't properly sealed the firewall so when driving in rain at highway speeds, water would run into the car soaking the lower interior and carpets... nothing like that new moldly car smell.  Audi wouldn't buy it back/give him a new one although it was just a few months old. They told him tough luck, they re-welded the seam shut and said that is the end of their obligation.  Other friend friends that own them aren't happy with the maintenance costs. BTW silver is very easy to live with.  It almost always looks clean.

No worries, I agree.  I can't recall seeing them give a negative review.

Thanks for the heads up on Liquid Art House, and more importantly congrats on your incoming JLC UT Moon.  You owe us some wrist shots when it arrives!

Current watch and pen..

Yachtmaster does not get enough love on here. I am sad.

On the off topic of Audis..

I've been driving an A6 for a number of years and other than the fact it guzzles engine oil (light comes on every 3 to 6 months) and the usual wear and tear I haven't had any serious issues. But of course I'll say this and experience a transmission failure or something next week.

What engine do you have?

I'm thinking about getting a 3.0tdi or the big bi-tdi.
