Shout out to The Breakfast Club!:

Bender: When have you ever gotten laid?

Brian: I've been laid lots of times.

Bender: Name one.

Brian: She lives in Canada. I met her at Niagara Falls; you wouldn't know her.

Or the fact that I go to school somewhere and it's there.

Geek.

Nerds only use scientific or financial calculators.

(or is it the other way around?)

I'll leave that for you to decide.

I still have my scientific calculator from a zillion years ago.

Judging by the depth of your watch knowledge, geek for sure.

It warms my TWAT-old man heart to see some call-outs here. I didn't have to bark "get off my lawn!" this time. Heh.

Also, mimo - SubC + Shake Shack, a good combo.

I'll take that as a compliment.

On the subject of nerdy calculators, does anyone have one of those HP bankers' calculators knocking around? I love those things. Completely impossible and counterintuitive for the non-banker (like me) to use. Utterly frustrating. But something so intriguing in them.

I was waiting for No Frills to come into the fake debate...

:hide:

...but I have to give Classic37 some credit for tenacity. He doesn't give up.

I admitted which ones were fake, and I apologize for thinking they were real. However, nobody has said anything as to the authenticity of the rest of them...and I wish I could at least be credited that. This place doesn't seem to give a second chance. I made a good faith effort--clearly not all of them are fake. A minority were and I took those off--the real ones remain. I also stated there was a reason we have them, and it was my fault for thinking they too were real. The blue Sub all other posted ones are real.

As I like to ask my clients, what's your endgame? We like to chat about watches, admire each other's, argue about obscure minutiae from time to time. Do you want us to say "nice watches"? Even the fakes?

So some random guy waltzes in and posts and bunch of watch pictures, some of which are fake, immediately stating off on the wrong foot. To add insult to injury he then goes on the defensive, before eventually coming clean. Thanks for the entertainment, but forgive us for not exactly setting out the welcome mat.

If you'd like to join the discussion, please feel free. But don't expect people to fall at your feet and worship you because you or your dad have a bunch of nice watches.

Gaaah! Stop taunting me!

OK, don't...

I just wanted to share. Like everyone else does. Didn't take the fancy instagrammed pictures and what not, clearly not looking for praise. But it seems as if I make a mistake on one then I make a mistake on all. And that isn't fair to me.

I went on the defensive actually thinking they were real. It's my fault for not checking before. But it's also not fair to say they're all fake--which it seems you are doing.
