Wow love your Seamaster. I think it would look great with a leather strap as well. What is the exact model of this? Would you say it rivals the Speedy, or is it apples and oranges?

Unfortunately the place I got my black / blue stripe strap from doesn't do black / orange stripe, but this doesn't look too bad.

Nothing wrong with seeing it again. We're all here to appreciate nice watches.

Given how many reports there are of poor dial/chapter ring alignment (prominent sellers even provide a disclaimer about it) I was very concerned that it would be screwed up, but it looks close enough to perfect for me. I had asked the seller in Japan to confirm alignment but given the language barrier it wasn't clear if they confirmed that it was perfect or confirmed they had the watch in stock. In any event, here's a quick snap for reference. Should have my moonwatch soon to complete the watch spree!

Yes it's not difficult to see why those are so popular.

So which Speedy did you go for? Pics?

Beautiful together! I would love to buy something like this for my father.

NS, now I wanna send my AP in just to get a cool travel box. I also almost spent a couple hundo to buy some old AP desk signage. Thought better of it at the last minute.

Thanks, it probably would look good on a leather strap. It's the Aqua Terra 2500. I've never owned a Speedy, so I can't say how they compare. I have an Omega SMP 300. They look good together wink.gif

I don't really get the whole "tropical dial" thing.  Rather than "tropical", the word that normally springs to my mind is "fucked".

But I do have a guilty desire for the rootbeer - and agree about the strap: this one's nice, sold by the guy in the picture (@Singular)  Not a fan of the wrist junk, but the watch and strap combo is :inlove:

Have always wanted to kop an AP wall clock, they're all over the place at my local airport. Though I could do without the strange blue lighting.

The best watch travel case I have got is the Longines ones, like a tube glasses case with a foam holders inside.

The VC one I got is a leather pouch, not good for watches that have a rigid bracelet.

Thanks for the pix.  That confirms what I thought about it being too much, I'm not a fan of that at all.

If it makes you happy enjoy.  To me, that's a watch that looks best on a bracelet.

I suspect I'm personally a sucker for that particular shade of orange. Always reminds me of Hermes..
