What are your thoughts on the new AP releases at SIHH? I'm not convinced yet. So far I've seen the white dialed SS diver, new concept and the two-tone 15400. I've seen nothing breathtaking so far... That Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk minute repeater though, mindblowing!

Thanks! And thank you mimo and Moo.

I has not had a look yet. : (

Re: PAM with a suit....my "house" in this particular case has long been made of glass, and therefore I shall cast no stones.

Totally guilty of wearing divers and other sports watches ( pilots, chronographs....Explorers *cough*) to the office, like .... all. the. time.

And I do agree that a few millimeters can make a big difference, particularly with shirt cuffs, but as always it's more about the overall look, how you carry yourself, etc.

Generally speaking, I would find the Speedy more suit-appropriate than a Panny, FWIW. Neither of those are dress watches, and I'm not pretending like they are. Hell, I'm still personally in the market for a nice dress piece myself.

Most forvmites are going to know the applicable "rules", and generally abide by them in spirit, if not letter.

But let's say that a guy like frilly wants to break out one of his razor-cut custom jobs, with some bold accessories, and he decides to wear his Deep Sea? You gonna tell him no?!

I don't want to live in a world like that! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Thanks Keith. Many of the more typical dress watches don't appeal to me in the same way as a Speedy, Pam, Portuguese Chrono, or Royal Oak. And the dress watches that do appeal are way out of my range.

Yeah the ALS is the obvious stinker.

Who would want a minute repeater like that?

Kidding of course, so I don't get lynched.

The ALS is a manty dropper.

The VC split seconds chrono ultra thin is fantastic. In platinum and a LE of 10, I fear it is Unobtainum for me.

The new Lange Datograph with a perp cal seems more like my style, but at around USD135,000 it's still a bit of a spend. I also feel like I've reached a point of contentment (wow!) with my two 3970s, and that I would have to think long and hard about getting another timepiece in the six figure price range if I have to let one of my beloved 3970s go. Let BOTH go? Perish the thought!

SIHH and Basel are both just fine shows to stoke desire.
