The Watch Appreciation Thread (Reviews and Photos of Men's Timepieces by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Breitling, JLC etc...) - Page 2530

Lately I've taken to wearing a very plain vintage IWC in steel. I love the simplicity. It's not an attention grabber ... and that is quite a plus.

I haven't been here since this date last year -- it's an annual visit these days -- so not sure if adding a photo will work or not.

Hahaha:rotflmao:  I was just about to ask which of you big shots plunked down $24 million for the Graves watch...(its practically every 4th picture on IG right now).   Everything is good with Frills, he's just been very busy so not as much posting.

It was me. Unfortunately I had to sell my Explorer1 to offset the cost. The funds from that really made the Graves affordable for me.

Holy supercomplication Batman, 24 mil that is insane.
Yeah, I was willing to go 22 and a half, but not a penny more.

I mean, I'm not stupid.

If I was a billionaire, I would have spent whatever it took to win that. Not even a question.

Speaking of Explorer 1's, this is obviously overpriced, but I don't think I've seen a 1016 that looks to be in better, unpolished shape. Or at least for a while.

My goodness. I suppose having retired from SF except for TWAT (and a few other isolated threads), I can't fathom how something like that goes down. Well too bad, was really looking forward to some wrist shots and exuberance.
