The Watch Appreciation Thread (Reviews and Photos of Men's Timepieces by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Breitling, JLC etc...) - Page 2528

I don't wear gold.  I don't like fluted bezels, or Roman numerals on Rolexes, and I've never much liked the Day-Date in general.  So how come TC's watch looks so AWESOME?! I felt this about my friend's Tu-Tone DJ on a Jubilee bracelet - all the elements I don't much like, yet together they're perfect.

TC, that is truly outstanding.  And the chocolate dial choice is inspired.  Congratulations. :)

TC - that is absolutely killer.  Congrats!

I wear a little.....

The gold watch/links/buckle combination comes of as a little too much when grouped in the pic but it wears much more stealthily IRL.

I am looking for a  watch under 300$ to start my collection.  does anyone have a good recommendation?

I am currently looking at the Seagull 1963 re-issue.
I always suggest starting with Seiko. They can't be beat for the money.

Thanks! While you do see a *lot* of Day Dates around here, DDIIs are somewhat few and far between, and I've actually never seen a rose gold one in the wild.

I do believe I like yours better, TC.

Congratulations, bromie.

And yeah, I bet that must be one heavy sonofabitch biggrin.gif

Just curious......which other dials did you consider before pulling the trigger on the chocolate? I've seen a nice ivory dial with RG as well as a rose stick dial - all are nice and only make the decision tougher smile.gif

I generally like all the dial offerings for the RG DDII. However, after a couple years of window shopping, I had been set on chocolate with the rose gold for a very long time (both Daytona and DDII). The ivory is also very nice on both, but to my eye the chocolate/rose combo is just on a whole different level.

A gift from my parents after finishing my M.Sc.. I remember looking at this exact watch for hours when I was a kid, being intrigued by the smooth movement of the seconds hand. My father got it for his M.Sc., and I hope I can continue the tradition.

LOL. Thankfully another AD in town had one in stock and I was able to confirm my strong bias.

I really enjoyed making space for the new piece last night. Here's a shot of the automatics:
