It's certainly up there.  I really love the look of this, and that neat chrono running/stopped/reset indicator.  And I also like the vintage version, cheesy or not.

My nominee for prettiest current JLC:

Look, Ma! No dangling, awkward numerals!

I want to say I love it too, but I'm waiting for final approval via a @Belligero font audit.  Are there two different ones there?  And are they evil?  Only the Belli knows...

Stitch - looking at the JLC 976, JLC Tribute to 1931, and JLC Squadra. For PAM - just looking for nice ones at good deals. I don't have a huge preference.

That's gorgeous, so clean and balanced. Why didn't you consider that one in this round of acquisitions?

The Reverso 976 is a travesty. Look at the movement. JLC should be ashamed of itself.

The Squadra is too faddish an iteration of a classic watch. Don't understand the appeal. I bet resale value will suck in the long run, too.

The 1931 Tribute is okay, but I would go for the Reverso Ultra Thin or Duo or Grand Taille first.

If you are only going to get one Panerai, get a base. The 372 is a winner.

Whoops. I was so excited I did not look close enough. The one I posted is better, and surely foo agrees that it rules.

I think I'm just too used to Subs, GMTs, Pashas, etc...where the bezels rotate.  I just don't love the fixed external bezel with rotating inner bezel....but that's just me.  YMMV.

I hear that, but i am glad they kept to the original.

Tough call for me, but considering your issues, I see why its a no brainer for you.

Close, but this is the prettiest current JLC:

Which by the way, is the only thing standing between me and the RO15400 being my next watch.

Just buy them all.

foo - I prefer to buy used and at good deals, and closer to $5k. Just personal preference. Any recommendations given those parameters?

stitch, who am I, RFX? biggrin.gif

It doesn't make as much sense in my collection. Not as dressy or elegant as the Tank (what is?), which is a much thinner ultra-thin watch. On the other hand, my Portuguese 5001 has all the same functionality and is simply a better, more iconic watch with a much nicer movement.

Kinda surprised you're not a 15300/15202 guy (purist). smile.gif

Me too. I would only want the 15202. I hate that the date on the 15400 is so inset--makes it obvious the watch case was made much bigger just for the sake of being bigger.

Obviously biased, because I own the Squadra Hometime on a dark brown leather strap, but I disagree.

First off, the original design for the Reverso called for a square.

Secondly, its a beautiful watch, with a fantastic and pretty much perfect dial and movement.

Thirdly, I have bought and sold (for work) a number of them, and they do quite well. Better than most non Rolexes actually, percentage of MSRP wise.

I go back and forth every week. Right now all things considered I am leaning 15400. Also, the price bump of the 15202 is an issue for me, unless I want to wait another year.

I can't wait until my new watch arrives so that you can express your distaste for my entire collection. wink.gif Wait, I don't believe I've seen you bash the 16610 Sub or the PAM112 yet. Thoughts? smile.gif (lol all in good fun)
