Maybe I missed it earlier but out of curiosity what size are your wrists Foo?

+1 on Mimo's statement above. I do think the Pam looks good though.

The Patek 175th offering was interesting.  The 5175 is ridiculous but Patek wanted something big.  The 5975 was confusing with the multiple scales.  It just makes the dial cluttered but I assume it may be cult like and people will want it for its quirks.  I have to agree the world time looked great and the moon on the dial is fantastic.

The 504 is just thrown in for reference. It is not actually under consideration. Though it is physically smaller than the 372, it looks bigger on the wrist to me, since it is all dial. The overall chunkiness of the 372 makes the bigness more expected and thus more okay, at least to me. Verdict? Yes, it is a big ass watch--so what!

Oh yeah, and the Tank is pure sex.

(Though I am also not a fan of the Panerai. But if you like and can scoop both of them up, go for it.)

Wear it how you wear it now. Suits. Casually. Just mix it in along with the Panerai & the Tank.

Do you always wear your watches so low on your wrist? I used to as well, but now I tend to wear them a little higher on the wrist so that the crown isn't pushing into the back of my hand when I move it. I have fairly large wrists but even so the oversized watches look a little more proportionate on me when worn a tad higher.

Yeah, I was just being facetious. The Portuguese 5001 is a supremely versatile watch.

I wear them as low as I can go--looks and feels more right to me, and makes it easier to fit shirt cuffs over.

As for the Panny, I agree the Rad looks outsized because of the dial.  Try a steel one, perhaps just a mm or two smaller, it will have more distinction between case and dial and look more balanced.  But that Luminor is just a bit too big: I get that big watches are supposed to look big, and that's just a matter of taste.  But when the lugs are wider than your wrist, it starts to look like you're wearing your Dad's clothes that are too big.  Get something that's as big as your wrist and looks chunky as hell, because that's what you're after.  But just a touch smaller than this, I would suggest.

Anyway, I respect your sticking to your guns on personal taste, and agree that you should.  But a slight adjustment to both, I think, will make you happier.

The Cartier does in fact sit flush--I was careful to make sure, as it is a perfectly flat plane and could easily teeter or overhang on the wrong wrist.

I must admit that the Radiomir looks ridiculous. I am defeated in that regard. 24 hours ago, I would not have hesitated to buy one if I wanted one. Now I must confess that doing so would have been a mistake and trying it on was the only way to know.

That said, I think the 372 actually fits quite well. In real life, the lugs don't appear to overhang at all and you see much more strap from the top view. My self-photos are much to blame.

Wow, I have the left cuff of my shirts made a little larger to accommodate watches, but even so no effing way it's fitting over my BP or PAM (and I have a 44mm). lol

My bespoke shirt cuffs fit over my Big Pilot, so they will probably be okay over the 327. If not . . . well, I need new shirts anyway.

What if the choice is:

1. Cartier Tank Extra Flat + Panerai 372, or
2. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Extra Thin

Luminor looks better in those flicks. If the Radiomir was that size, I would have no complaints...

To be clear, you only have the Portuguese 5001 right now?

The two are actually about the same. In fact, the Radiomir is a tiny bit smaller (same size dial, but smaller case and no crown guard). It's the proportion of dial-to-case that makes it look so much bigger on the wrist. Also, the dark color of the "composite" case blends in more with the dial, making the surface area appear larger.
