Ha, does it happen to be in rose gold?

More graily, or less graily, than the AP?

While there though I was trying on the BLNR and got offered a nice discount. Damn! confused.gifbiggrin.gifshog[1].gifbaldy[1].gif

The salesperson at Cartier told me that gold Solo XL sales are cannibalizing sales of the Louis Cartier Extra Flat. Most Cartier buyers don't care about the mechanical difference and only see the $6,000 price gap.

Can someone give a brief run down of the different Tank and other rectangular Cartiers? There's, like, 7 of them at different price points and sizes and they are all good?

The wrist shot of the 372 doesn't seem too big. I take back my previous comment. It's a great price and great piece, definitely get it (or both)

It's Barbour season! Strolling through the Royal Palace garden on my way to work, stopped to take a snapshot. Moments later, a small bird in the tree above me shat on my phone. A hint from nature? Either to stop looking at my phone, or to get a new one. Not sure.

Patek released a bunch of new watches for their 175th anniversary a couple of days ago. I must say I'm not incredibly impressed, aesthetically, with any of the offerings.

Maybe with the exception of this:

Wish the case back came with a sapphire crystal option:

Still, I prefer #womw:

Although someone offered to exchange their CHF2.5 million ref 5175R for my 3940P in a straight trade, I might have to think about that (photo via Google Image Search):

Still, at 47.4mm case size and 16.1mm height, this may well wear larger than a DSSD.

Wait, people ARE expecting to wear this one as a daily wearer, right...?

That case (specifically the lugs) is just gorgeous.

Back on its native buffalo strap, after flirting with some coloured NATOs over the summer. Apologies for crappy phone shot.

Foo, I have to say that neither of them are right: they're both almost OK, but for that kind of money, get perfect.  The Cartier isn't quite too big,  but it's too flat.  It's not sitting right on your wrist as I feared, as least I don't think so from this a angle.  If you want a big Cartier, try one of the many other options: I found the Anglaise fit very differently, but just as monster.

As for the Panny, I agree the Rad looks outsized because of the dial.  Try a steel one, perhaps just a mm or two smaller, it will have more distinction between case and dial and look more balanced.  But that Luminor is just a bit too big: I get that big watches are supposed to look big, and that's just a matter of taste.  But when the lugs are wider than your wrist, it starts to look like you're wearing your Dad's clothes that are too big.  Get something that's as big as your wrist and looks chunky as hell, because that's what you're after.  But just a touch smaller than this, I would suggest.

Anyway, I respect your sticking to your guns on personal taste, and agree that you should.  But a slight adjustment to both, I think, will make you happier.
