After long, long last, I have finally looked at every page of the watch P0rn thread and now I can post a pic of one of my watches.
My Grandfather's Wittnauer which was at that time part of another watch company whose name I can't remember. JLC perhaps? Anyway, this thing had fallen apart and rotted away and I had Central Watch Band put it back together. It needs a band and different hands on the chronos (notice how they don't match) but it's a nice thing to have and I'm looking forward to wearing it at some point.
If anyone were able to throw out any of their thoughts as to the age of the watch or any other info, that would be cool.
Another Seamaster. Ref. ST 165.0020 with the cal. 552 movement if I'm not mistaken. Got it through eBay two weeks ago I think. The second hand fell off a few hours in on the maiden voyage but that was fixed rather easily. Keeps time as good as one can expect from a 40 year old time piece so I couldn't be happier.
A Tissot was my first "real" watch years ago-- when they released this one, I fell in love with the retro (1946) style. I threw in a bid on ebay this week, and snagged it for less than 50% the normal going price, or less than 30% the retail.
Thinking of getting the Seamaster Aqua terra midsize chronometer as a daily beater to rotate with my Air King. Does this come with a deployant or tang buckle? I would prefer a deployant one. What do you think, black or blue dial?:
