I am strongly considering one on the new bracelet for well under $2k
.

Looks very modern, i'd opt for a rubber or metal bracelet.

Is watch made of titanium or is it just the finish?

Damasko manufactures their own steel, which is 7x harder than stainless (typical steel used in watches).

She is dead accurate. I saw her and she smiled back at me. That was that.

Congrats and I'm glad that my write up was helpful to you.  The Daytona is a great addition to any collection.

Great photo, I'm also a big fan of the BMW 3.5CSL "Batmobile" model that you have your Daytona resting on.  Great car and a great watch!

Thanks, Dino. You know your cars. The Batmobile is one of my favs of the 70s.

Pic sucks a bit, was a quick op with my cellphone. Will try my luck shortly with a decent rig, incl. macro lens.

And so far, two most learned men have failed to nail "one watch", without caveats.  To be fair though, you did start without equivocation, and I certainly didn't see that coming?  Er..a what?!

Alright alright alright,... In which case the Stowa Marine Auto polished, and it's heavily discounted now:

Stowa would be my thought as well.  Hard to choose one watch from them so I will leave it with just the brand.  I am partial to the Antea KS 41 as it has a small seconds that sits lower on the dial.

Just Picked Up - JLC Master Ultra Thin - 41mm. Hope to wear this true understated classic for many years.

A little embarrassed to put it in this thread, but since the topic was under $1k new, why not. $400 SARB065 for fun. Sorry for the cheesy tree shot...indoor photo wasn't that good.

Man, I love the cocktail time. I have always wanted to pick one up.

Older watch? Not serviced?

30ft at the most. But yes, older watch had not been serviced in while.

Also, a far distance below the 1k target (and probably anathema to most, no matter how open to foreign ideas this thread is) but I am strangely drawn to the Swatch Sistem 51. Probably not the "one" watch, but..

I like the idea of the Sistem 51 more than the execution.
