Hard to say. In the past 2 months I've still seen people post, "Got the call" (from their AD and they bought a Daytona). Not sure if that is in areas where Daytonas and sport Rolexes have typically been in short supply. There are definitely people waiting to see what happens at Basel, but those are people that were never going to buy the 40mm and have been hoping for a 42mm Daytona for the last few years. Then there is the group that buys the outgoing version the minute they hear a Rolex is going out of production so they can get one of the final models produced. That happened when the old Sea-Dweller went out of production, when the old non-Date Sub went out of production etc. In the end, there is lots of speculation but only Rolex knows what will happen...and how long it will take. If they follow the roll out they did with the GMT-C, and SubC...if they actually do release a 42mm Daytona, we would see the release of it in all gold later this year, maybe a steel and gold version at Basel the following year, and then a year or two later an all steel version. Also remember lots of people were speculating the all steel SubC would come out the year after the steel and gold model, but Rolex made the public wait an additional year. I guess we will know what will happen in just a few months.
Great quality, but to be honest I find their designs a bit dull, and they remind me of various Seikos from their regular line many years ago. But styling is subjective. I would also consider if you see this as a long term ownership experience, or whether you are someone that tires of things easily and hence you sell/trade items often. If you live in Asia, it may not matter in terms of service issues or resale value, but if you live say in the US, service will be a pain and you may have difficulty determining its resale or finding a buyer for them in a country where they do not have a very strong following. Good luck with whatever you decide.Thinking of going Grand Seiko for my first "real" piece. I was thinking of a 116200 Datejust, but the finishing on the GS is as good (if not better) than a Rolex, plus it'll be significantly more low-key. Thoughts? Has anyone here handled or own a GS?

Put my 18k GMT on a Hodinkee strap, and changed to an old brown bezelinsert with a nice shiny brownpurplish patina. I know for a fact that this patina was the result of a short period in the last owner´s oven, and not years and years of sun bleaching
I like the result quite a lot better than the previous configuration of black bezel insert and croco strap
