Wearing my Speedy today, on bracelet. I'm pretty active in my speedy so croc would be a poor choice.

Wearing my Speedy today, gotta love this watch. Probably most comfortable watch I own.

What's all this commentary without pics business?  Do you know where you are?

Show us the goods, dammit.

H just brought up Speedys given it was the Apollo 11 anniversary, so I chimed in saying I had mine on as well. There are plenty of Speedy pics in this thread already, plus you already mentioned the inferiority of a Speedy on a bracelet haha.

I love my Speedy and it's been a part of my collection for years. Always wear it on july 20th. But I'm having sinister thoughts about trading up for a 36mm Explorer I. That would leave me without a chronograph though.

Really lovely on a dressy brown strap.

Or casual on a Hirsch Carbon.

^^I have the Explorer I and like it a lot but I wouldn't trade my Speedy for anything, not even for Daytona.

The thing is, they are so readily available (even though mine is a LE from 2003) that it would be quite easy to get a new one, but I'm really attached to the one I have now.

Well, they are both easily available but I would rather let go of my Exp I before I get rid of my Speedy. So buy the explorer and keep speedy!

They told me this thread was full of enablers biggrin.gif
But I think your reasoning is sound, because my connection is to MY watch as much to the Speedmaster itself. Now to find a cheap Explorer I.

You know, never really thought much of Jacquet Droz, but I have to say, I find the watch posted today on Hodinkee to be quite gorgeous.

It kind of has the quirky feel of a modern breguet without being obnoxiously anachronistic.

Not to everyone's tastes, of course, but white gold, in house movement (looks nicely finished) and enamel dial sub-$20k (with probably a decent discount, I don't think one would pay full price for a DJ) is pretty fair.

Not saying I would buy it. But it is an interesting offering.
