Me too. I've had quite a few of them, but I am Speedyless at the moment.

I've had teo myself. The first one had a couple of issues with the movement which I suspect had something to do with having been standing for six years in the shop when it was purchased (i found that out when getting the papers from the Omega archive) The other is a Cernan Ltd Edt. From 2003 which has been to hell and back and has always performed flawlessly. I can't ask for anything more from a chronograph. Im considering getting one of the new Omega nato straps launched at basel this year as a belated 10 year anniversary present for it. biggrin.gif

Here are a couple of my current favorites. Thank you photobucket for crapping up the quality to an even worse standard than they already were.

What were nato straps originally developed for? I see Omega is making one in leather now. How interesting.

OMG there IS a titanium speedmaster! WTF! Missing the screwdown crowns and pushers, but still! Amazing!

Nah I wasn't trying to "gotcha" or anything… I just got the impression that some one had preceded your comment with mention of wearing the watch at 10atm which obviously is crazy. Generally speaking, although I think dive watches are cool, I really don't know any divers who rely on them frequently.

The clingfilm is good for another 5ATM pressure rating.

Congratulations. :)

Different brands have different ideas about what waterresistance rating makes their watches safe to swim with. Also watches from well reputed makers are usually overengineered to quite an extreme degree. My speedys easily passing 10 atm tests is a good example of this. My iwc aquatimer chrono is rated at only 12 atm and that one passed a 30atm test and there are several more examples available. As a tool the dive watch is outdated but it's always nice to know that they are able to perform even better than what it says on the dial smile.gif

I really really really want a vintage-y omega dress watch. Time to set up ebay alerts and keep an eye out. Anyone got any recs for models to watch out for?

If I might go off on a tangent for a moment in proud TWAT tradition: today while walking on the beach, I slipped on a wet concrete ramp and cracked my head.  My Orange Monster was unharmed, and might even have laughed.  However, in my temporary confusion, I lost my venerable Oakley sunglasses.

need to replace them with something equally robust i.e flexible, polarised, and actually designed to protect eyes from sun and sand and stuff.  Also, cheap, if possible.  Some of you chaps seem to know a lot about sunglasses.  Any recommendations?

The brand is a matter of abject indifference, but I have a massive head, so general advice on who makes sunglasses for fatheads/cattle/The Mekon would be welcome.

These.  Gone forever.  I hope they found a loving owner.

Warning: because I know you're all basically psychopaths who enjoy the suffering of others. You're welcome. :) (Click to show)

^^Mimo...you should be grateful you lost your oakleys. Time to move on to adult sunglasses. :poke:

and chrissakes....hope you're OK....thats a nasty gash.

picked up a new piece over the weekend for my birthday/fathers day gift. another panerai...pics soon!

Pics now!

And those are very specifically my beach/exercise sunglasses. I don't actually wear them..with people.  So something new like that is what's needed - i have others for civilised interaction.  Anyway, they are gone in exchange for ten stitches.  And you know what the most painful thing was?  The sound of the doctor chewing gum while he shaved, cleaned and sewed up my head.  No standards these days.

So come on then, I know you've had a thousand Pannies..is it an old friend returned, or something new and outrageous?  Show! Show!

The only Panerai I could get into is the Radiomir, which is a truly elegant case. I just dont get the hype over the others.
