Does anyone have any experience with the U-Boat brand? I saw one and completely fell in love with it as it reminds me of some Pam's but much simpler.

Looks horrendous IMO - and really completely ridiculous on the wrist.

My first post....
Speaking specifically about these two watches, I prefer the Dornblueth mostly because I'm not a big fan of gold. In general though, I find the GOs more interesting. I feel like the case on the Dornbluth is just too plain Jane. I love the work that Dirk does on the movements to make them unique, and I love the low volume operation and the face. But everytime I look at that case I lose that "special feeling."

I love the DD case personally but I can see someone being confused or turned off by the juxtaposition of the simple Bauhaus case and ornemented movement and hands.

lol I'm not surprised that you would say that. I'm on the fence on it, though. I only got the seamaster about 5 months ago but I'm already yearning for a new one. If not that, then definitely a luminor marina..

Thoughts on the above?

If you go back to the first pages of this thread, you'll see that I'm a big fan of the historic Panerai, especially the Luminor Marina. So I would approve this pick. That said, I don't think 44mm PAMs are for everyone either - I've seen too many hockey pucks on puny wrists and owners don't seem to realize it just doesn't fit. So, if you like it and it "fits" your wrist, then by all means treat yourself to the watch you really want, without spending extra money on mediocre choices in between.

Well for size comparison, that's my seamaster on my wrist. What do you think?

definitely the Panerai. that U-boat is, imo, a disgusting exaggerated copycat of Panerais.

I recommended a Chris Ward watch to a friend for her hubby's wedding present. He loved it. Great quality. Unbelievable CS.
