PSA. For those in the Philly, Govberg is having a fantastic sale...actually it's more like FANTASTIC.

A man after my own heart. Or, perhaps, vice versa. I had considered the Speedmaster moonphase but ultimately went with the classic dial, only to start falling for the JLC MUT Moon.

I wonder, what do you think of this newer entry from GP?

I think that you were wise to go with the classic dialed version (paging Mimo). I am not the biggest fan of the Speedmaster Moonphase, (insert my ramblings), mainly because I find a chronograph and moonphase a bit incongruous, as I do with a moonphase on a sports watch. And the MUT Moon is a fantastic watch in my most humble of opinions! You have excellent taste my friend!

And you know, I like that novelty from GP, but I can't say I would pay what I am sure they are asking for it. I would have to see it in the flesh, but I assume it is quite large. GP is in an odd zone for me. I like their watches... but I feel like at that price point, I would rather have a Patek, VC, or AP.

With that said, I have ALWAYS loved the Annual Calendar + EOT:

One of the coolest asymmetrical watches, in my opinion. GP does asymmetrical well.

In regards to my post earlier...

Ruh roh, looks like that Geophysic picture was not supposed to have leaked.

Saved for posterity on TWAT, where there are NO RULES.

Picked up a Speedy Pro for 35% off. Might go back tomorrow for a NOMOS, also 35% off.

Yes, that is where GP seems to shine. And the GP traveler moon is a bit large and costly to be optimal for dress. I think I may just have a moonphase fetish at present.

Soon. I'm at my favorite brewery in town drinking now, talking my wife in to the NOMOS.

So tempted to request a NOMOS proxy...

Holy heck, if you have not seen this in the flesh, do yourself a favor and check it out. It is ABSOLUTELY stunning. The blue dial is just unbelievable. I honestly have never seen anything like it. The case is also made of tantalum, which I find interesting. If this makes sense, the case kind of gives off a black MOP vibe. It is almost smoky looking. It has a lot of depth, and ties in well with the navy strap and the blue dial. The blue changes colors every way that you look at it. And the movement is just beautiful. It has a crazy amount of death, and it is very unique looking.

Of course, as I am certain some will chime in... FPJs are not known to be the most reliable. That does concern me a little bit. But I have heard that they are over it.

.

There's 2 or 3 of these new for sale on the forums. Hodinkee thinks that future service would be expensive.

Thanks for the first hand impressions.

You may be able to call and order, save on sales tax. I would give them a call tomorrow (I think the Ardmore location is the only one open tomorrow) if you are interested.

And to be clear, their sale includes more than those two brands, those were just the two I was after today. I had a PiageT on as well but was not interested, I just wanted to be involved in Nuke's latest tyre kicking shenanigans haha.

website says online only??

I have no idea what the website says. I was at the Ardmore location today and walked in to it out of luck because we were shopping in the area.

The thing with FPJ, though, is that as beautiful as they are, I don't think I would acquire one until after I've had my fill of what I wanted from JLC, ALS and VC

The other poster meant the website stated in-store only. I will be calling in the morning. If by any chance they will do a phone order, that would be awesome. I would be interested in a Speedy Pro as well - thanks for the heads up.
