I don't recall what watch Johnny Drama had during the series.  But IIRC, "E" had a RO during some of the series, and there was an episode where someone was trying to hire Ari to work for a movie company, and as an enticement they gave him a gold ROC (but it was the previous 39mm watch as the 41mm had not been released).

As for ROs or Nautiluses, while I like them in RG, they would have to be on a bracelet or I'd stick with steel.  I don't like the little end pieces that attach to the leather strap.  I have tried on a RO in RG on a bracelet and its a beautiful watch in rose.  However, it gets very, very $$$$$ when its in all gold including the bracelet.  Wishing you luck on your next watch adventure.

That's a very interesting comment and actually sort of explains my warped perspective. My introduction to AP was the Royal Oak Offshore. There was period around 2005-2006, all my car buddies started getting ROOs, mostly rubber clads, safaris and other variants on straps. I didn't learn about the Royal Oak or the iconic RO bracelet until very recently (in this thread in fact). So to me, those little end pieces that attach to the strap are kind of iconic as well. LOL Stated a little more clearly, they just don't bother my eye, because until recently I had only ever seen APs on straps.

It would be very hard for me to pull the trigger on a RG RO with bracelet. That is just crazy money for what you get IMO.

Thanks for the well wishes. Watch buying season is always winter holidays for me so this is just some hand-wringing to pass the time and to motivate me to try to make some money to pay for all these pieces. smile.gif It's actually kind of a blessing we don't have an AP dealer here, it would be very hard to exercise willpower.

Yes, you are correct! Drama had some brand I had never heard of. There's a decent summary of some of the watches here: http://blog.luxurybazaar.com/luxury-watches-entourage-finale/ They don't mention E's AP but IIRC it was a yellow gold 39mm ROC on brown croc.

Thanks for the Entourage watch summary link.  I have heard of Drama's watch, Alpina.  A small watch shop near our old home used to carry it.  At least a few years ago when I saw them they were not that expensive.  I think the most expensive model, a chronograph had an MSRP of under $3K.  Not sure what they go for today.

Thanks for explaining your intro to RO's and your exposure to them on straps.  I agree on a gold bracelet it does become crazy money.   Well, even if you don't have immediate plans to for a new AP or PP, its never to early to start figuring out what the next addition to a collection will be so you know how much need to save up for holiday treats!!!

Just bought my wife a Rolex (finally) for her upcoming birthday. Just a basic one, but that simple look appeals to her, so I nabbed it a couple days ago and it arrives next Tuesday biggrin.gif

Awesome, that is one clean DJ! The first watch I bought for my wife was a SS DJ. Love them on women.

Thank you smile.gif

Yes, she's gonna love it, I tell you. She loves that look, but she's not expecting this by any means, so it's gonna be a great surprise for her.

Superb mate it looks great, agree with TC in that it looks uber clean and therefore very elegant nod[1].gif

^ Thanks mate, appreciate that.

I'll take some more photos when it arrives and there'll be wrist shots when she's wearing it on her birthday (which isn't until May, but the watch would have been snapped up by someone else if I hadn't stepped in).

Very exciting, you can keep it to yourself till then? Impressive. Got to be worth some dangly clues in the meantime to maximise brownie points both prior and after the happy day mwink[1].gif

Oh yes, I've left some vague clues already, but nothing more. My lips are sealed (except here wink.gif ) until then.

Good for you. I'm horrible at keeping secrets and making surprises. I just can't contain my enthusiasm when giving gifts.
