It's not exactly a famous watch brand, but I have this Alessi Nuba watch. To me it's the most gorgeous watch I've ever seen. I love it. It's simple but sleek.

Mine is black face with the small dials in white. I need to get it polished... keep hitting it with the seatbelt.

Trust me, he isn't. There are much worst offenders out there. They've got major government funding for their catch-and-release programs.

This one may be next on my list. I rarely have occasion to wear a strictly dressy watch, so I hate to drop 4 figures on one. This, with a plain black calf strap and a dark brown croc strap, may be the answer.

Has anybody else tried Christopher Ward automatic watches? I bought it while the exchange rate was in my favor at about 1.38 USD to 1 GBP.

Thoughts please: Glasshutte Senator http://http://www.minutemachines.com/watches/GlashutteOriginal/SenatorAuto.html vs Dornbluth Thinking mostly in tems of workmanship and size. Neve seen a dornbuth live so ...

I prefer the DD but that's mostly design-wise. Dirk uses ETA movements that he modifies extensively so if you prefer manufacture movements, the GO is a better choice.

that Dornblueth looks a lot like a Stowa marine to me.

Glashütte is one of my favorites right now. I think they represent a very nice "bang for buck" ratio. The finish is usually excellent and i think it's more well proportioned than the D.D. But my advice would be to visit a reseller and try on the watch in person to see which one signs loudest to you. Either way I think you'd be happy. But they are quite different.

I have seen and know the glashutte senator and s.sixties quite well. The only way for me to se a Dornblut would be in Kalbe, and im not gooing there before one is ready im thinkin the sterling silver dial and applied numerals. Ilke the "under the radar" factor ...

If you get GO get the 60s However if it is between those 2 I like the DD.
+1 on GO. +1 on the Sixties, too. The Senator (and the Dornbleuth) has that flat crystal and sharp corner/edging around the case a lot of German watches has. Nothing wrong with it, but imho it makes these more casual than dress watches. The Sixties has a rounded crystal that if you look at it IRL is a real beauty.

Forgive the crappy webcam pics, but I'm at work and don't have access to my digital camera. This is my Omega Seamaster watch. Better pics will be posted soon (also of my Rolex Submariner).
