I contacted the guy who sourced the AP and he assured me he could get it for me quickly at the price I want. Stay tuned!

Monday am delivery. smile.gif

Yep Costco.

Now if they only took applications, I'd finally get that repeater.:rotflmao:

Rubber straps make sense if you dive while wearing a watch on top of your suit.

As you go deeper under water, your suit will compress. Thus, a watch or a compass that fit your forearm perfectly on the surface becomes loose.  To solve this problem you over-tighten the strap on the surface so it feels normal at depth.  You can certainly do it with a metal bracelet, but it is much easier with a rubber or a NATO-style strap.  Also, things get banged up under water and replacing a strap is cheaper than replacing a bracelet. (For the equipment other than watches, bungee mounts are the best solution.)

Well it's the start of a new year, and I suppose it's time for a mega-dose of frillyvolousness to start the year off right (mimo, as requested). For the past few months I've been obsessing over upgrading the cuff link collection, poring over various selections and checking the work of jewelers against what other jewelers claim they can make for me in a bespoke fashion (and attendant pricing). Much like my selection of watches I have decided on only a small handful; deliciously crafted from precious metals and with workmanship that can't easily be duplicated very well by run of the mill jewelers (I checked with many jewelers based in the US, Asia and Australia too).

Here is the first installment: Alhambra cuff links from Van Cleef and Arpels - onyx set in white gold.

Think it complements my choice of the 3970P today just fine:

More to come over the next few days.
