I love the Nautilus. Definitely one of the nicest luxury sport watches of all time. The Aquanaut, is one model I've never quite warmed up to.

I think you have to be clear on whether you are seeking vintage or simply pre-owned. You can get pre-owned Datejusts, Subs, GMTs, etc for a lot less than the current MSRP. When I say pre-owned I mean watches of roughly the last 20 years or newer. If you are talking about vintage watches say stuff thats roughly 25+ years, really the only bargain priced watches will be some Datejusts, Oyster Dates, etc. Vintage Submariners, Sea-Dwellers, Explorers, GMTS and of course Daytonas are frequently far more costly than the modern ones depending of course on the model and its condition. Vintage can provide you with a really interesting Rolex, but you have many more options on vintage Rolex watches if you have a sizeable sum to spend on a vintage Rolex.

Nice choice. The Daytona has always been one of my favorite Rolex watches. I have it with the inhouse cal 4130 movement and with the Zenith based cal 4030. Here is a photo of one of mine. I'd love to get a vintage one with the manual wind movement....maybe some day, if I hit the lottery

I'm a new member on a slow sartorial learning curve, mostly reading threads and not posting at all. However, having developed a taste for and worked up a small collection of vintage watches I thought I might share pics of some of my watches.

Some people can spend ages selecting the tie for the day - I need a couple of mintues each morning choosing a timepiece for meeting the challenges and adventures of the day.

As you may notice, my preferences lean heavily towards the 50's and 60's, which IMO offers some of the best value and style for both casual and formal wristwear.

Just picked up a new watch.
Seiko SARN003. Retrograde days, GMT 2nd time zone, power reserve, date. One of the more elusive Seikos, with a rather interesting and unusual in-house movement. The chances of running into anyone who even knows what this watch is are remote. Chances of running into someone else who owns one are about nil. (Nobody in the U.S. other than a die-hard Seiko collector like me would pay Omega $$ for a Seiko.)
Although I own some Swiss watches, I really like Japanese watches a lot. This has been something of a "grail" watch for me. I've kept waiting to find one used, but they are so scarce, that they pretty much never come up for sale. I finally bit the bullet and bought one new. My new favorite in my Japanese collection.
