Thanks guys. Really appreciate your opinions smile.gif

Most probably will go for a C. I've got a thing for dress watches and vintage stuff and find the large watches a little clunky on me. Maybe it's just me. Ha.

The Nautilus is quite a strong contender, and quite the icon.

Interestingly, these guys wear them small.

Argh ... choices ...

Which size looks better on my slim wrist?

A or C for me from the pictures you presented.

Glad you clarified the no-diamonds preference... :)

Have you tried on the 5711?  I've found that it sits better/flatter on my small 6.25" wrist than the AP 15202 ST - a function of the AP's lugs, which are a bit longer/lengthier than the 5711's.  This is of course just a personal preference thing.

Let us know what you end up choosing!

The Mrs. has been talking about getting a more "robust" watch for day-to-day business wear and finally settled on this one. 31mm DJ in rose gold two-tone with fluted bezel, Jubilee bracelet, rose hands and silver stick dial. I like it. More importantly, she likes it.

'Grats to you and the missus!  As I've written before, I quite like the fluted bezel/Jubilee strap combo on the classic DJ.  The 31mm size looks perfect, and the track is a welcome little addition IMHO.

Didn't quite notice the Paul McCartney pic in the original post,  but you specifically mentioned  Nautilus.  Sir Paul regularly sports an Aquanaut, a descendant of the Nautilus that seems either adored or not-quite-liked by others.  You're considering the Aquanaut too?

Thanks guys. The AD said the 31 is now by far their best selling woman's size. You can do some really nasty things to that poor watch, though, with the diamond bezels and floral dials and other look-at-me crap. Was happy that she wanted to keep it clean.

the mid size is fantastic. we just bought one and i think my boss is gonna give it to his wife. some of the be-jeweled ones are a tad OTT< but there i some that i think are very pretty.

I'm getting that itch again fellas - would appreciate some thoughts on my three finalists (not necessarily in order of preference):

Royal Oak Skeleton Perpetual Calendar (SS)

PP 5140G (or possibly 3940G)

FP Journe Resonance (38mm WG dial version)

Am quite familiar with AP & Journe, although this would be my first Patek. Thoughts??

AP would be my choice. smile.gif

Ah. On closer look it does look more like the Aquanaut. Not clear on my phone screen. No, don't quite like it, I much prefer the Nautilus. It's a toss-up between the Royal Oak or the Nautilus really. Will try and see which keeps me awake at night. Ha!

Medtech- I prefer the perpetual calendar on the PP, or the FPJ. I'm biased, however, because I like dressier watches and my perpetual is on a dressier watch too. Would go for the FPJ though.

oh man that is hard. such different watches. as much as i do love FPJ, i think unless i had a monster collection, that the AP and PP would defo beat it out. also, that is not my fave model of theirs.

that being said, the PP and AP are so different. the PP is classic crispity crispness at its most crisp. and the RO is bursting with personality. the PP is tuxedo dressy, the AP could be worn with jeans. i think you have to get both. i honestly cant decide.

medtech - for what it's worth, I would go for the Journe without a second thought. PP is what it is - hard to fault it but not as exciting and sexy as the Resonance IMO. Definitely not the RO skeleton though.

y u hate the RO skeleton, g?

I've never liked ultra-complicated sport watches. Two don't jibe for me. I don't hate ultra-complications but IMO don't belong in a steel case & bracelet sport watch
