First day of work Monday!

And in regards to the G Shocks... I have kind of wanted one lately as well. I just need to find one that I like now. Kind of want something completely "out there." Like one of the black analog ones.

Love the Speedy Pro!

I have always wondered if I wanted a Speedy Pro in my life.  Have had the willpower to hold off for now - but the G-Shock's potential use in my out-of-office life and its relatively low price point is eroding my willpower.

Honestly, the Speedy Pro is just a great watch. I think part of the reason I love it so much is the comfort though. It really works with my wrist. By far the most comfortable watch I own.

Also, for physical activities, I just use my Orient Mako. Picked it up for around $100, and I have beat the living hell out of it. It works like a charm. I run with it, mountain bike, lift weights, whatever. It has taken everything I have thrown at it.

I am glad we are back on the same page bro fistbump.gif

I was thinking about this though... despite our similarities up until now, I feel like our choices may start to diverge a little bit. I know we are both interested in the Tank Solo or Reverso. And we both have a hankering for a vintage Rolex. But after that, I guess time will tell! Lately, I have debated just waiting until I can afford a PP 5711 / 5712 or a AP RO. Despite my love for pure dress watches, it looks like I just will not have enough occasions to wear them. I find myself gravitating more towards the hybrid dress / sport watches.

And in regards to the G Shock--I saw this one on PG's blog a while back (I am surprised I just found it). It is completely unlike anything I own, but for a fun bumming around watch, it really looks kind of neat.

Thanks! Starting off slow for a while, just picking up materials to get myself acquainted with the work... will not be starting in earnest until mid-October!

It is funny how nice cell phone pics can be! The hesalite really makes the Speedy very photogenic.

Thanks Dino! The Speedy is taking double-duty since my MUT Moon is now on an extended trip to Switzerland. Lucky watch.

Decided on a 114060m. Should be here on Wednesday. This marks 2 or 3 stressful months of searching for a watch. I wanted a stainless Rolex and ultimately the polished centre links of the GMT were too flashy for me (not to mention I find the bezel to be a bit busy). That said, I didn't want something terribly muted, so the cerachrome bezel with the brushed bracelet was a perfect compromise. Hoping to add an LVc before the end of the year as well.

Cheers!

Congrats!  Sounds like a great choice.  I look forward to seeing some wrist shots soon.

A lot of G-love in here!  I am now starting to realize right after work I take off my watch so it doesn't get more beat up when dealing with the dogs and other things.  Am I talking myself into a G-Shock being useful?  I look at my wrist and think, damn I wish I knew the time.

Is TWAT the justification here or is this a SF thing in general where justifying purchases is the normal?

As resident TWAT hobo, I have to say that this is increasingly the most prominent watch in my aspirations at the moment.  For all the dozens of other objects of desire in my mind, and despite the obviousness of it, it's just...right.  Ever since I put one on my wrist while bored in an airport, it's the one I always come back to as the "just one treat, when the next decent deal comes through...".  Sure, there are vintage options and all sorts of other iconic classics.  But there's just nothing wrong with it, is there?  It's just something that however many times I look at it, it's still perfect.  There's never that feeling of "if it only had x or came in y" that I can ask myself about other things.  I love this, it's a brilliant choice in my ignorant opinion, and one day I will have one too, I'm sure of it!  Congratulations on acquiring flawlessness!
