You are absolutely right. About a year and a half back I was looking for a simple and classic sport watch and had always liked the Explorer I, but it was just a bit too small. I fell in love with the simplicity of the new 39mm version and browsed that site to get more info - I was sorry I did. I almost did not buy the watch because of the brand name and type of buyer that seems to be associated; see the "show me your Rolex with your car/boat/champagne/etc" threads. Thank goodness my Explorer seems to goes unnoticed by almost everyone.

I don't have the words to describe that thread...but the work "tool" comes to mind.

the big watches dont bother me. as long as it looks good on the wrist, and an appropriate sized movement i used, i think its A-OK.

I just checked the OP again, that 210 REALLY is nice. I think you got it right, there is just no way to have just one panny.

oh yeah icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif. I really like the gold hand mod on gdl's 210

I prefer the second myself. But I have to say, those are superb photographs, whoever took them. Very well done IMO.

no joke.

here are my issues. i think, objectively, i like the more classy subdued look of the 210 case, and the more stylistic number fonts. on the other hand, i do want a sportier watch, and i want a panerai with the crown protector, and i like the option to easily swap straps.

in the end they are both beautiful looking watches, and i dont know how i am going to decide.

I made a choice. So can you! happy.gif
