What would you all suggest as a first watch? I'm deciding between the black two toned sub and the blue two toned sub.  What do you all think?

What is wrong with two tones?  What would you suggest I get instead?  I'm only considering a submariner.  I like the two toned because I think a plain band with black face is boring and cheap looking but a full yellow gold submariner is too showy/gaudy.  What do you suggest?

Edit: I really like the pepsi faced sub, but my best friend has that and I don't want to buy the same one as he has.

Screams of nouveau riche. For a first watch, I'd get something more universal and less showy/tacky/brash.

Do you limit your choices just Rolexes?

I've always wanted the sub. But I'm also thinking about a Panerai luminor but I'd really like the sub first.

There are tons of great watches out there.  Spend some time on Timezone and/or the Purists.  May cost you a bit, but your mind will expand.

I don't usually go for Rolex but this one is fantastic.

Sub is a beautiful choice. I prefer blue one. But you may try something not so flashy. Steel would be good.

I have a two tone GMT2 in gold and black, I have never regret that as my first real watch
There is no such thing as flashy, depends how you carry it

I'm going to be the douchebag here and say that no 20 year old intern should be wearing a new Submariner much less a two tone one.

The watchuseek does not even concider Rolex as a high-end, only as an expensive luxiry, but if you like it - go for the two-tone, less loud.

I personally still haven't growth to Rolex, can't get why it's so popular, but would probably buy Rolex sometimes, as a tool-watch, f.e. steel Ex-II or Daytona.
