Below is a quick wrist shot of my Tank XL.

No wonder, the Submariner was never a luxury watch per se. It was definitely a tool watch when it was new, in the early seventies. But thanks to the OCD of watch collectors, what was once only a tool with the twist of red writing is a now an expensive luxury item. Go figure.
Thanks Cylon! I had a hard time picking one out this morning biggrin.gif

Very nice, but do you ever get the feeling you may have too much time on your hands? blush.gif

thanks, i like it a lot better also. i only changed it as the leather was getting ruined from sweat for lack of AC at my previous job. new job has AC, back to the strap.

Definitely better on strap.

You should also try a lighter colored strap, e.g. the iconic Reverso honey ostrich strap

thanks. i know of the color strap gdl referenced, but i dont think a standard strap would look right with the lugs on this model. ill try and get a beter pic of the strap ends on mine, youll see what i mean. the case between the lugs is very thick, and there would be a lot of odd dead space with a reg strap. thanks tho.

gonna throw this out there: should I go for a speedy pro or a zenith el primero 38mm?

(bhall41 complicated my life again)
