Good point with the black finish. AS beats C&J even for me. I wish they just did more 724 lasted stuff! Really only last if get since it fits the best.

Do they fit comfortable? Doesn't look so.

I have a higher instep and flat feet and yet they still feel comfortable. I also wore them for like 12 hours straight as a groomsmen in a wedding with no issues. They are actually one of my most comfortable pair of dress shoes. I attest that maybe to the quality of the leather?

BTW Im actually bending forward which is why they appear "stressed" in the photo. Thanks for your concern.

Yes, they do look a bit strange in that photo, but glad to find that they fit you, Armfield is a great model.

Wurger, you need to get the KW cap toes to compare if they really are as good as KW says they are!

Something a little different:

Sanyo Yomacho Black Captoe. Purchased from Isetan in Shinjuku, Tokyo for what I believe was 660,000 Yen. The highest end shoes in leather I have are Carmina, and I certainly believe the last is more elegant. Leather is very thick, and I was told from Germany - Freudenberg? They do not have as slim a waist as Alfred Sargent Exclusive line, however.

JPY660,000 = US$6,470.  That's bespoke prices.

I got 2 pairs of black shells, I much prefer calf as it's lighter, softer and less hot.

I think PatrickBOOTH also orders black shell oxfords (from StC) - may want to give him a shout for his experiences.

thanks.  i like the shine, but not sure whether the creasing would bug me in a more formal setting

I had a pair of cap toe balmoral boots in #8 shell. I thought they look fine and the cut was really nice. However, I do prefer calf shoes since I really associate shell with more casual stuff. Personal preference really.
